Thermodynamics Pure Expanded Flexible Mineral Graphite Twisted Yarn Style 1000 and Style 1200
Thermodynamics, through our continuous research and development of various types of products made from pure expanded flexible mineral graphite materials is now fully committed to the supply of a proprietary series of twisted yarn for all mechanical gland packing manufacturers.
Thermodynamics twisted yarns are twisted from pure expanded mineral flexible mineral graphite tapes reinforced with threads of cotton and or other materials.
The twisted yarns are produced in two different configurations of identical basic materials with different types of reinforcements and tensile strength. These are identified as Style 1000 and Style 1200 with different style numbers.
CONFIGURATIONS
Thermodynamics Style 1000
The reinforced wires and threads are compounded in the core of the flexible graphite tape layer before our twisting process. This is a stronger and tighter method of twisting yarns. As a standard % of reinforcement, the stainless wire should be min. of 20% of the total nos. of the strand of reinforcement or none depending on the width of the flexible graphite tape.

Thermodynamics Style 1200
The reinforced cotton threads are compounded in the core of the flexible graphite tape prior to our twisting process.

Stronger stainless wires are added on the surface of the graphite tape and twisted together into a yarn.
Inconel wires are applied only with this method of twisting due to its high cost.
Our standard is with one wire reinforcement, however, two or three wires can be applied only upon request. Cotton threads is again our standard reinforcement unless otherwise specified, the no. of threads will depend on the width of the flexible graphite tape.
